Camp Good times -Kids camp 2013

Aidan had two days to recuperate and then it was back up to Camp Goodtimes.  Brandan went along too but b/c he was only 9 he ended up in a cabin with other children.  Brandan is pretty mature for his age so the group he was with was a bit too young for him and instead of enduring the week he opted to come home.   Aidan was a great big brother and tried to encourage him to stay but to no avail.  Aidan did have an excellent week connecting with kids from the previous years and he is just a happy go lucky kind of kid.  He was really happy to see some of the Camp Good times crew from last year also.  One thing that set me back was when I got a call from Shannon to tell me that Aidan was complaining about his hair coming out.  I thought we were past that point but I guess not, anyways he asked to be shaved.  I love you Aidan, always be strong. XO

Camp Goodtimes 2013

Two years ago we went to Camp Goodtimes at Loon Lake sponsored by the Cancer Society.(http://www.campgoodtimes.org) Aidan wasn't able to stay because he had just finished his first round of intense Metholtrexate.  A 1 litre bag of this liquid chemotherapy  had to be administered through his line.  We were so excited about going together and just having some FUN.  Unfortunately when we got there he ended up in the med shed for the first day and a half and then the head nurse said it was best for him to go back home and also head straight up to BCCH.   I am happy to say that we were all able to stay the whole time this round. We had an perfect host paired with us and his name was Kash.  The kids got along with him well and he was just a great guy along with all the crew at Camp Goodtimes.  Julie at the top was another families host but we liked having her with us just as much!  Fresh air, beautiful weather, great activities, no electronic devices, OH and great food.
Thank you Camp Goodtimes for making life as a Cancer kid not so bad.
